Benefits

The Eco Hub will deliver huge benefits in addition to renewable electricity, such as:

• The project will deliver a Community Benefit Fund of over £300,000 during its planned 40-year life, to be spent by local people on local projects.

• The Community Benefit Fund has not yet been set-up; Grupotec will engage with local bodies, such as parish councils, to understand how it should be managed and operated.

• The project will contribute to the local economy, directly through the creation of construction-related jobs and indirectly in the supply chain.  The project will also have an ongoing contribution to the local and wider economy including business rates and the operational management of the Eco Hub.

• Large reductions in greenhouse and air pollution emissions helping meet UK and international targets.

• Increased biodiversity to enhance local wildlife.

• Allow farming to continue within the development, with sheep-grazing among the solar panels.

• Helping the local community take the step to electric vehicles.
